Despite the Montana namesake, Gallatin Canyon makes their home in Charlottesville, Virginia, where the band was founded in 2011. True to their Virginia roots, the band is known for traditional bluegrass music with a unique and modern sensibility. Nodding to the bluegrass past with a traditional spin, Gallatin is also known for rebooting tunes from both the classic country and classic rock genres. From Flatt & Scruggs and Bill Monroe, to Johnny Cash and the Grateful Dead, at any given show, you can expect to hear a virbrant, eclectic blend crossing multiple musical genres.
